Proofing of the entire game, including several add-ons (April to July 2008)
During this huge project, I was responsible for coordination of the style and terminology of the texts prepared by four translators – a total of more than 500,000 words, excluding the add-ons. A mammoth task and an invaluable experience that proved immensely beneficial to my professional development.
The following two reviews mentioning the quality of the translations appeared in industry media:
Review in PC Action magazine (12/2008):
“Other arguments for Fallout3: the first-rate dubbing and admirable German translations for the game.”
Review on Computer Bild: “Particularly the avatars’ dubbing is right up there with the best that the world of computer and video games currently has to offer. The developers have injected so much emotion into the translations of the spoken texts that you really do get to experience all of the ups and downs.”
The following year, I was entrusted with translation of the German version of an add-on with 10,000 words. Two years later, I translated a further add-on comprising 20,000 words.
