Localisation, updates, bug reporting, QA, tester supervision (September to December 2008)
I spent four months working on-site on the Mario Tennis GC, Rock ‘n’ Roll Climber and Lonpos games.
My time at Nintendo constituted another major step towards becoming a translator specialising in video games. This one was similar to another mega project completed at a leading games developer in Japan. In Frankfurt, I worked closely with other freelancers at the very source of creativity once again. This extremely valuable opportunity enabled insights into how language coordinators, language assistants, QA leads, in-house translators, testers and all of the other involved parties work, and what they expect of freelance translators.
